Restaurants you need to visit in and around Gerringong

“So you can’t have butter?” A question I’ve heard countless times since being diagnosed with celiac disease five years ago, and one that usually has me exiting a restaurant faster than I entered. Questions like these, along with well-meaning but misguided suggestions from servers, have become a depressing reality of dining out with celiac disease. It’s nothing personal, you just need to accept that not every restaurant is going to cater for your specific dietary requirements.

Whilst in Gerringong and the nearby town of Kiama, I set out to find the places that not only offer safe celiac options, but welcoming atmospheres and stunning views. Gluten-free doesn’t mean ‘making do’, you just need to know where to look.
